What is our purpose?
The purpose of the effort you see on this page is to accomplish two objectives:
1. Raise enough funds to pay for cutting, engraving and mounting a stone that will commemorate John Pipes Jr. and his wife, Mary Morris. Their old grave stones in the Union Cemetery are from soft stone and approaching two hundred years old. I will be posting a concept and details of the stone shortly.
2. Raise funds and support on a continous basis for maintainance and stabilization of the Cemetery and the stones that remain there. Maybe replace some of those that have been destroyed. The cemetery needs to be mapped, mowed, repaired and maintained. To keep that going we need funds, marketing, advertising, awareness and passionate people to get involved and stay involved. I will be posting pictures of the cemetery and maybe some surprises too.
